Wedding Thank you Cards
What to write on a wedding thank you card and when wedding thank you cards should be sent.
Are thank you notes really necessary? Certainly! Wedding thank you cards show your guests how much you appreciate them taking their time to attend your wedding and that you have safely received their gift with joy.
You will also want to send a thank you note to your wedding vendors (wedding planner, florist, photographer/videographer, caterer, etc.) that played an important role in turning your wedding dreams into a beautiful and memorable reality.
WHAT TO WRITE ON A WEDDING THANK YOU CARD?
First, start off with the guest’s name. Then express your gratitude for their presence that made your day extra special. Any memorable moments you had with them during your celebration would be a nice touch to your message as well. Additionally, if you have received a gift from this guest, acknowledge their specific gift and let them know how grateful you are of the gift. End the note by signing both of your names at the bottom of the card.
Any gifter shall be thanked — those who attended, those who could not make it, and those who were not invited.

WHEN SHOULD WEDDING THANK YOU CARDS BE SENT?
Wedding thank you cards should and are typically sent out within three months after the wedding. However, it’s always a nice gesture to send them out as soon as possible after receiving gifts or gestures of congratulations. Sending thank you cards in a timely manner not only shows appreciation but also reflects your thoughtfulness and attention to detail. It keeps the positive energy flowing after the wedding and reinforces your gratitude to your guests for their support and gifts.
A physical thank you note from the bride and groom will be a nice, memorable keepsake for guests.
