We are Katherine & Kayla, two sisters with a deep appreciation for the tactile and aesthetic qualities of paper. Since childhood, we have been drawn to all things stationery—collecting notebooks, planners, pens, and paper just for the joy of experiencing their textures, colors, and designs. Whenever our parents took us to the mall, the stationery shop was always our first stop.

Our journey into wedding stationery began when we discovered the art of design through bullet journaling in 2017. What started as a creative outlet soon became a passion for typography, layouts, and the craftsmanship of paper goods. This love naturally evolved into creating bespoke wedding invitations, and from there, Muted Slate was born—a brand dedicated to timeless, elegant paper goods that celebrate meaningful moments.
